Work type: Fashion

Being a designer you know how it is important to be original. People say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But quite often it becomes the form of copyright infringement, this is not only unpleasant, but also illegal. So, what you can do to protect your rights as an author of the original work?

First of all, you should know that you can protect original sketches and designs, print patterns, arrangements of shapes, colors, lines. But all works should be in a tangible medium. If you want to get the maximum protection for your copyright, and provide a way for people to contact you about using your work, you need to deposit your creation. It allows to confirm the owner of a copyright and permits those seeking to purchase or license copyrights to find the appropriate owner. Go to the UDIAR main page, create an account, fill out the required information and upload your work. It takes only a few minutes. After that you will get an official certificate with legal confirmation of copyright, which is valid in all countries that signed the Berne Convention.

Every UDIAR user also has an opportunity to monetize protected works in the internal marketplace by providing licenses for use and distribution. The rightholder sets terms and conditions for acquiring a license, including price and the period of validity. You can also alienate rights – transfer all rights to your work to another person.

You can entrust us with your protection. Create, we will do the rest!
